My name is Kelley Reeder and I currently teach English grades 9 and 10, as well as Journalism Yearbook at James Buchanan High School. As a proud alum of JB, I have come back and have proudly been teaching for five years. Taking on such extra-curricular activities as serving as the yearbook advisor (a full-time job in and of itself!), Spanish Club advisor, an assistant Drama Club advisor, Powder Puff Boys' Cheerleading coach for two years, Publicist for the school plays, and helping with the student-run Relay for Life, my primary motivation is to help the students learn about English and life both in and outside the classroom.

Teaching is a true passion for me. I love every single moment that I have with my students, even on the toughest of days! Not only do I love the subject that I teach, but I love working with students and helping them hone their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills to prepare them for the future, whether that takes them to college or directly into the work force. I strive to maintain a rigorous learning environment where students can laugh and have fun during learning through differentiating the various activities and lessons that I deliver in my classroom.

Through this portfolio, you will see a demonstration of my planning and preparation, classroom environment, instructional delivery, and professionalism, the main areas needed to demonstrate Level II Certification competency. Through example lessons, pictures, and videos, you will be taken on a journey into Ms. Reeder's classroom and the exciting times that we have during our learning journey!
